A graphical user interface is being developed for the storage, visualization, and mining of integrated breeding data. This includes the extension of a relational database scheme, development of exchange formats, and the management of data sets provided by industrial partners. We are looking for a developer to participate in the design, implementation and maintenance of the software in close collaboration with project partners.
The successful candidate should hold a B.S. or M.A./diploma in informatics, bioinformatics or related disciplines. Strong programming skills (Java, Perl, XML) and familiarity with database design (UML, SQL) are a must. Experience in software frameworks like Hibernate, Lucene, or AndroMDA is desirable though not essential. A bonus would be knowledge in statistics and algorithms for data analysis or knowledge in agricultural science.
